Tips to remember when creating your Leavers' Book

  1. Beg or borrow a digital camera for the best quality photo's. The higher the resolution of the picture, the better they will look!
  2. Add your photos' to your memory stick as you go rather than rush at the last minute.
  3. Have a look for some photos of the class from previous years; 'when they were young’ photos make fun comparisons.
  4. Take pupil and teacher profile pictures in the same location – this will create uniform look to these pages. Consider the direction the light is coming from.
  5. For the 'Engine of the School' photo's you can add in members of staff not included in your teacher pages such as office or dinner staff. Alternatively you can add pictures of the school grounds.
  6. If you need more photos for your gallery pages take some digital photos of some of the best pieces of student artwork or displays.
  7. Get your pupils involved in the book, use our lesson plans to vote for class awards, interview the teachers or write a newspaper article.
  8. Fundraise for your books! A fancy dress day, bake sale or car boot could be an easy way to contribute a few pounds to the price of each book. Get the parents involved and don't forget to take plenty of photos!
  9. Let the Leavers Books' Team know in advance when you are going to need your book; this way we can ensure they are with you in plenty of time.
  10. Have more than one person to check the hard copy proof to ensure all the corrections can be done as quickly as possible!
